Don’t let your values and ethics interfere with your pursuit of what matters most to you. Support companies with similar values and ethics. Soap & Glory’s ethical policies and initiatives can make it easier to navigate and find ethical brands.
Even though Soap and Glory is not a 100% vegan brand and no of its products are vegan certified, the vast majority (not all) of their products are vegan because there are no animal-based ingredients in them.
VEGAN PRODUCTS FROM SOAP AND GLORY
According to Soap and Glory’s ingredient list, these products are vegan. However, you should always keep in mind that the formula for making these products could differ, making them no longer plant-based. Therefore, please verify ingredients before placing an order for these products.
Having emailed Soap and Glory in hopes of getting the list of their vegan products, I will share it with my readers as soon as I receive it. You can still purchase these products at Boots, Ulta, and Target stores even if you can no longer find them on the Soap and Glory Uk website.
The animal testing policies of Soap & Glory (2022)
According to Soap & Glory’s website, their formulations are never tested on animals but on people. As well as having Soap & Glory regularly audit its manufacturing partners to make sure they adhere to a no animal testing policy.
The company does agree that they “cannot claim that any of the ingredients used in [their formulations] have not previously been approved by animal testing for human use” as stated in the following passage.
My eyebrows were raised when I read this section.
It is my understanding that many of the ingredients in cosmetics have been tested on animals at some point in the past. It is not something that Soap & Glory controls, unless they have a time machine to prevent animals from being tested in the first place.
To Soap & Glory’s benefit, they can assure that neither their products nor ingredients are currently being tested on animals. I find the statement on the Soap & Glory website to be a little shady, and I do not feel confident that the company is doing all they can to make sure their ingredients are not being tested on animals at this time.
The following response was received from Soap & Glory in response to my questions:

IS SOAP AND GLORY SOLD IN CHINA?
There are no products sold by soap and glory in China. In order to be a successful cosmetics or skincare brand in mainland China, you should know what it means to sell their products there.
To test their products on animals, a company has to pay a third party in accordance with China’s cosmetics regulations. By doing so, a company gives consent to test their products on animals.
The company doesn’t sell any products in China, fortunately.
Is SOAP AND GLORY manufactured in China?
Soap and Glory does not manufacture products in China. All of its products are made in England by this UK-based company. Our Soap & Glory factories are all meticulously audited before being used for the first time, and are audited every one to two years according to global ethical trading standards (international labor conventions and environmental protection standards).
