Is Tom’s of Maine Cruelty Free

In a statement, Tom’s of Maine stated that it does not test its products or ingredients on animals or hire third parties to do so. Furthermore, their suppliers do not conduct animal testing, and are not permitted to allow their products to undergo animal testing when required by law. Finally, neither their products nor any other products of theirs are sold in stores in mainland China or any other country requiring animal testing.

Tom’s of Maine would meet our criteria for being Cruelty-Free.

In spite of the fact that Tom’s of Maine is owned by Colgate-Palmolive, which tests on animals for some of its other brands, Tom’s of Maine is not cruelty-free.

No matter how you feel about cruelty-free brands that are owned by non-cruelty-free parent companies, it’s your choice whether to support them or boycott them.
